Geocomposite geogrid applications

APPLICATIONS

Routes not traveled

Combigrid® is used on temporary or permanent unpaved roads, such as access roads, improving transport and preventing the migration of fine particles between the soluble soil and the granular layer.

APPLICATIONS

Railroads

Combigrid® minimizes deformations in wearing and ballast layers. Its integrated geotextile prevents the accumulation of fines, maintaining the stability, strength and drainage of roads.

APPLICATIONS

Hiking trails and airstrips

Combigrid® is installed under or within the granular layer, ensuring adequate compaction and compliance with minimum construction requirements.

APPLICATIONS

Work platforms

Combigrid® stabilized working platforms provide a safe and durable surface for heavy construction equipment, improving its robustness, stability and longevity.

Success stories

Roadway in flood zone with Combigrid composite geogrid

In Pedwell, Bridgwater, UK, a 5.35 MW solar farm was built in a flood zone, overcoming the challenge of creating roads over unstable peat soils. Using Naue Combigrid® 40/40 Q1 151 GRK 3 , a composite geogrid combining reinforcement, separation and filtration, they were able to improve the bearing capacity of the soil. This solution allowed a quick installation, reducing costs and time, ensuring the success of the project.

Construction in subfloors with low bearing capacity

In Grasberg, Germany, state road L 133 was in need of rehabilitation due to high traffic loads, pavement deterioration and low bearing capacity of the subgrade. Combogrid® and Secugrid® geogrids were used to reinforce the base, avoiding costly soil replacement. In addition, the challenge of a nearby gas pipeline was met with an innovative concept that protected the road structure. The implemented solution ensures sustainable construction and reduces future maintenance costs.
